UTR PTT Heads to Wimbledon: Nearly 50 UTR PTT-Connected Players Competing
By Jonathon BradenPublished

The level on the UTR Pro Tennis Tour, the go-to tour for rising tennis professionals globally, keeps improving month after month and year after year. That steady climb will be on display for the world to see at Wimbledon, the season’s third major championship, which begins Monday.

This year, 49 former and current UTR PTT players are competing in qualifying or main draws at the grass-court Grand Slam. That’s more than double the amount of players who competed at 2024 Wimbledon and more than who competed at 2025 Roland Garros.

Grand Slam Qualifying/Main Draw UTR PTT Players
2025 Wimbledon 49
2025 French Open 40
2025 Australian Open 49
2024 US Open 69
2024 Wimbledon 22
2024 French Open 23
2024 Australian Open 30

Players throughout the world are drawn to the UTR PTT because of its high level of competition, as well as its substantial prize money and guaranteed matchplay, both player favorites of the growing tour.

From July through September alone, the UTR PTT will feature 120 prize money events around the world, that is 10 tournaments a week, offering players more opportunities for matchplay and prize money. Read more about July-September calendar.

Carson Branstine (11.82 UTR Rating) is among the UTR PTT players to watch at SW19. Branstine was a two-time All-American at Texas A&M and battled through three qualifying matches to make her first major championship main draw. She began the 2025 season competing on the UTR PTT in Newport Beach, where she fell in the final.

Branstine is one of seven UTR PTT players in the women’s singles draw, including Iva Jovic, Taylor Townsend, Katie Volynets, Yuliia Starodubtseva, Kimberly Birrell, and McCartney Kessler. Kessler (12.25) is seeded No. 32, and Jovic (12.23), only 17 years old, is looking to build on her second-round showing at Roland Garros last month.

Townsend (11.95) won her first UTR PTT title in Brandenton, Florida, as she was making her way back from maternity leave in 2022. Townsend, now a two-time doubles major champion, returns to the Wimbledon singles main draw for the first time since 2019.

'A lot of emotions'

On the men’s side, 10 players with PTT connections will compete in the main draw next week. Oliver Tarvet (14.19) did it the hard way, winning three qualifying matches to reach his first major championship main draw.

Tarvet plays college tennis at the University of San Diego, the host of the UTR Pro Summer Slam National Championships, and is a two-time singles All-American there. But Tarvet grew up a mere 23 miles from the All England Club.

“A lot of emotions, but the main one is happiness,” he told the San Diego Union-Tribune. “It’s a lot of work that goes into it, getting to where I am today. A lot of people put in work to help me get this far. The last year, two years… just a lot of emotion. So thankful.. Just enjoying the moment. It doesn’t happen too often so it’s important to love it.”
