Ukraine’s Veronika Miroshnichenko, one of the top women players on the UTR Pro Tennis Tour, likes many things about the go-to tour for rising pro players globally.
She loves the convenience of the PTT, with more than 450 events scheduled in 26-plus countries this year. She appreciates the guaranteed matchplay that comes from the PTT’s unique format, found nowhere else in pro tennis.
But most of all, Miroshnichenko enjoys the PTT’s guaranteed and increasing prize money. “I really like the paycheck,” she said.
She’s had a lot of them in 2025. Through the first 12 weeks of the season, Miroshnichenko (UTR Rating 10.81) is the top performer on the women’s side of the PTT.
The 27-year-old has won four $25K PTT events from five finals this year, and she’s leading the new PTT Tour Card Points Race, which rewards players based on merit and participation.
Miroshnichenko is in first place in the yearlong race with 16,475 points and has already earned that same amount in prize money. The top finisher in the points race for each gender will earn an extra $10,000 in prize money at the end of the year.
The PTT Tour Card also rewards players along the way. After two completed events, players earn $500 in free Power analytics and gear. And players can earn an extra $750 in prize money if they’re among the first 100 players in each gender to complete four PTT events.

“It's a great strategy… It motivates players to participate more, it attracts better players, it creates almost like a whole separate tour-like environment. And I mean, the fact that I’m first right now is definitely great,” she said.
Miroshnichenko has played all five of her events at the The Tennis and Pickleball Club at Newport Beach, a short 20-minute drive from her place in Orange County, Calif. The club has become a bit of a second home for Miroshnichenko, who, as a girl, traveled to tennis tournaments with her grandparents throughout her home country of Ukraine.
As a top-ranked junior in Europe, she grew up competing against the likes of current WTA stars Jelena Ostapenko, Belinda Bencic, Marketa Vondrousova, and Paula Badosa.
By the time she was 15, Miroshnichenko had moved to the U.S. to train at former ATP player Guillermo Cañas’ academy in Miami, Fla. She stayed in the U.S. for college, going to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Six years later, Miroshnichenko emerged as the college’s first tennis All-American and a fan of college tennis.
Her PTT playing experience began shortly after the PTT began. Miroshnichenko competed in her first PTT tournament in January 2021, the first month of the PTT in its current format. She won her first PTT title 18 months later, in August 2022.
“UTR just did a huge step forward, where it attracts a lot more pro players on tour, and everyone just wants to get into it and play,” Miroshnichenko said. “I highly recommend for everyone to join.”
Like Miroshnichenko’s game over the years, the PTT has evolved. The PTT began as a developmental pathway for aspiring professional tennis players but has since become a global pro tennis tour for all players, from those starting their journeys to players already competing in Grand Slam tournaments.
That was evident for all to see at the 2025 Australian Open, which featured 45 players in the qualifying and main draws.
“Everyone is reaching out to me. Some of my friends that are also around, like, 300, 400, 500 [in the WTA Rankings] and and even on the men's side because I also practice with some guys. I've sort of been a promoter of the [PTT],” she said.

Miroshnichenko hit a career-high UTR Rating (11.53) in November 2023 before a wrist injury halted her progress last year. She also ascended to career-high of No. 289 in the WTA Rankings in May 2024.
Come December, she hopes to eclipse her career-high UTR Rating and maintain her first-place status in the yearlong PTT Points Race.
“I'll do my best, obviously, to maintain that position and try to win as many as I can during the year,” she said. “But then I'm trying not to put any extra pressure on myself, because I feel like if I'm playing great tennis, there's nothing that will prevent me from staying there.”
