IBP Tenis is set to host a series of prize money events throughout Spain that will exclusively run on the Universal Tennis platform starting this spring. There are expected to be more than 300 events in over 100 cities, featuring upward of 8,000 players on the platform through 2024.
Since launching in 2017, IBP Tenis has created national tournaments to support youth tennis and grow the game in Spain. More than 30 players ranked in the Top 300 on the ATP and WTA Tour have played on the IBP Tenis Circuit.
IBP Tenis also promotes values such as integrity, respect, and solidarity, which fits seamlessly with the UTR Rating, the world’s most accurate and objective tennis rating created by Universal Tennis. Coaches, sponsors, and fans will also benefit from the new alliance, which will allow greater accuracy and fairness in the creation of draws and teams.
The partnership will allow all IBP Tenis matches played throughout the season to count towards players’ UTR Rating, providing an additional benefit for players to participate.
“Partnering with Universal Tennis is a big step forward towards bringing greater competition opportunities for tennis players in Spain,” said Guillermo Aylon, Development Manager at IBP Tenis.
The IBP Tenis Circuit is a series of tournaments that culminates with the IBP Tenis Masters tournament, which features the best players who qualified to compete for more than 20,000 Euros in prize money.
“The IBP Tenis Series Powered by Universal Tennis will help competitive players in Spain become rated or improve their UTR Rating, while enabling Universal Tennis to continue to strengthen its global reach even further,” said Stephen Amritraj, Chief Tennis Officer at Universal Tennis.
Spanish players will have the ability to join Universal Tennis’ global platform and track their progress with access to their UTR Rating, recognized as the gold-standard rating for college recruiting by coaches across the United States. The partnership will also add value to the clubs that run circuits and tournaments throughout Spain by allowing providers the opportunity to join and utilize the Universal Tennis event management system.
