Tournament Spotlight: Oracle Challenger Series - Chicago

This week, the 2018 - 2019 Oracle Challenger Series season gets into full gear in Chicago. This is Chicago’s first major tennis event and the kickoff to the road to the 2019 BNP Paribas Open. Here’s everything you need to know about the Oracle Challenger Series and the Windy City’s first major tennis event in 20 years. What is it? The Oracle Challenger Series was established in 2017 as a way to support up-and-coming American players through opportunities to secure ranking points and prize money. The Chicago Challenger kicks off the 2018-2019 Oracle Challenger Series, which culminates at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, CA. Each Oracle Challenger Series event awards equal prize money for both ATP and WTA players, with the top Americans competing for wildcards into the BNP Paribas Open. The Chicago Challenger event runs from September 2 - September 9th at the all-new XS Tennis Village. Where is it? The Oracle Challenger Series will be held at the brand-new XS Tennis Village in Chicago, IL. Need some city inspiration? Check out Lauren Davis and Bjorn Fratanjelo’s tour of the Windy City! Who is playing? Singles and doubles players from around the world are gathering in Chicago for this exciting event. The women’s draw features top players including 2016 Olympic Singles Gold Medalist Monica Puig, Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard and Americans Madison Brengle and Nicole Gibbs. The men’s draw features Mackenzie McDonald, the young American player who has made an impression in his first few years on the tour, as well as Noah Rubin, Ruben Bemelmans, Taylor Fritz and Bradley Khan. When does the main draw start? The main draw kicks off on Tuesday, September 4th and the semis and finals will be held on Saturday, September 8th and Sunday, September 9th. All match play begins at 10:00 AM CT. Where can I watch?
