Tournament Spotlight: Dell Technologies Hall of Fame Open

The Dell Technologies Hall of Fame Open is in full swing in Newport, RI. This is one of our favorite tourneys on the East Coast - the historic coastal town of Newport combined with the only lawn tennis tournament in the Americas makes for a unique and special event. To kick off the tournament opener, here's everything you need to know! Where is it? The International Tennis Hall of Fame is located in Newport, R.I. on the site where the first U.S. National Lawn Tennis Championships – today’s US Open – was held from 1881 – 1914. Who’s playing? Steve Johnson, German star Mischa Zverev, Mackie McDonald and Alex de Minaur will be competing in this year's tournament on the ITHF’s historic grass courts. Who are the past winners? Past champions include John Isner, Rajeev Ram, Mardy Fish, Leander Paes, and Vijay Amritraj.

What is the International Tennis Hall of Fame? The Hall of Fame is home to an extensive museum that showcases the rich history of tennis as told through the remarkable lives and careers of the Hall of Famers. Engaging exhibits feature an impressive collection of artifacts from tennis’ greatest moments and most inspiring champions, and a vast array of art, fashion, photos, and videos. Highlights include a hologram of Roger Federer speaking about why he loves tennis, a 5-foot tennis trivia touch table, and a tour narrated by Maria Sharapova. Since 1955, tennis' best have been inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame including pros like Kim Clijsters, Jim Courier, Billie Jean King, John McEnroe and Tracy Austin in tennis history. This year’s class will be inducted Saturday July 21st, joining the 254 individuals representing 23 different countries who have received the honor.
