The level of players competing every week across the globe on the UTR Pro Tennis Tour continues to climb. Players, officials, and college tennis coaches say as much, and you can see for yourself by watching the UTR PTT for free on UTR Pro Tennis TV.

One additional qualitative piece of evidence: a record 55 current and former UTR PTT players are competing in Wimbledon draws as the season’s third Grand Slam gets underway in southwest London.

That is a 12% jump from last year, when 49 former and current PTT players competed in the Wimbledon draws, and more than a 150% increase from two years ago, when 22 former and current PTT players competed in the grass-court major championship.

All told this year, former and current PTT players have made more than 180 appearances at Grand Slam championships.

“It's crazy how they’re improving every month; not even every year, every month, it’s getting better. It’s a higher level and much better players, and the organization of the events is better,” said Poland’s Maciej Rajski (UTR Rating 13.45), who finished first in the 2025 UTR PTT Tour Card Points Race, earning a $10,000 bonus.

Learner Tien (UTR Rating 15.59) is among the men (full list below) leading the former and current PTT charge at SW19. Tien, the 16th seed, competed on the UTR PTT in 2021-22, falling to fellow Wimbledon main draw participant Alex Michelsen (UTR Rating 15.44) in the semifinals of an event at Newport Beach. Tien faces Dalibor Svrcina of Czechia (UTR Rating 14.76) in the opening round.

Michelsen, a former UTR PTT champion, faces another former champion in Jacob Fearnley (UTR Rating 14.78). It will be the first tour-level meeting between the two.

Fearnley, 24, played collegiate tennis at TCU, whereas Michelsen, 21, had committed to the University of Georgia but elected to turn professional before competing in Athens, Georgia.

Michael Zheng (UTR Rating 14.76), a former UTR PTT player and 2026 Hurd Award champion, has already earned one of the most notable upsets of the tournament. Zheng, a two-time NCAA men’s singles champion, beat former Wimbledon semifinalist and 26th seed Cameron Norrie (UTR Rating 15.37) of Great Britain 6-7(7), 6-2, 6-7(2), 6-3, 7-6(4).

Zheng, who beat 2025 Hurd Award champion Colton Smith (UTR Rating 14.53) in the final round of qualifying, could face third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime (UTR Rating 15.79) in the third round.

Ethan Quinn (UTR Rating 15.25), the 2024 Hurd Award champion, also notched a big upset by beating 14th seed Luciano Darderi (UTR Rating 15.54) of Italy in straight sets.

On the women’s side, former UTR PTT semifinalist Maya Joint (UTR Rating 11.95) is leading the group of 29 former and current UTR PTT players competing at Wimbledon.

Joint has the pleasure of meeting 23-time major singles champion Serena Williams as the all-time great returns to singles action for the first time since the 2022 US Open.

"It's an honor," Joint said, according to the WTA. "I always dreamed about playing Serena Williams, and if you'd told me 10 years ago that I'd be playing her first round at Wimbledon, that's just crazy.

"I have so much respect for her, and she was one of my idols growing up. I'm just really excited to have the opportunity to play against her."

Taylor Townsend (UTR Rating 12.36) also will face a former Wimbledon champion in her opening round. The American faces third seed and defending champion Iga Swiatek (UTR Rating 12.97) of Poland.
