Spotlight On: Oracle US Award Winners

While the summer tennis season has come to a close, at the world's best players are headed to Asia to compete in the fall's premier tournaments. Let’s take a look at the standings of the four Oracle US Tennis Award recipients and how they've been performing since the US Open. The Oracle US Tennis Awards program names two outstanding young American players to each receive a $100K grant to assist them as they transition from college to the professional ranks. Danielle Collins (UTR 12.60) had a tough loss to US Open Champ Naomi Osaka in the fourth round at the China Open. She later retired in her match against Timea Bacsinszky (UTR 12.54) in the first round of the Tianjin Open. Mackenzie McDonald (UTR 15.20), pulled of a surprise upset of No. 14 seed Milos Raonic (UTR 15.63) at the Shanghai Masters. McDonald, the No. 81 seed beat Raonic 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. He went on to compete with Roberto Bautista Agut (UTR 15.50), losing in a hard fought match 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. 2018 award winners Francesca Di Lorenzo (UTR 12.38) and Chris Eubanks (UTR 14.81) stayed in the states to compete locally in a number of challenger series. DiLorenzo had a great showing at the US Open, winning a spot into the main draw. She lost to No. 13 ranked Kiki Bertens (UTR 13.18) and has since gone on to play at the $125K Chicago Challenger. Eubanks has played in a number of Challengers, reaching the quarterfinals for impressive showings in all. In his most recent match, he fell in the quarter finals at the Stockton Challenger to Lloyd Harris (UTR 15.34), 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.
