In the previous two rounds of qualifying, Polmans picked up straight-set victories over Borna Gojo and Felix Gill.

On the ATP Challenger Tour, the Australian has won three ATP Challengers (two in 2019), and has appeared in the second round of both the Australian Open and Roland Garros. His best finish at Wimbledon has been the first round, which he’ll hope to improve on when the main draw begins on Monday.
In women’s qualifying, Katie Volynets stormed into the main draw with three dominant wins over Tereza Mrdeza, Eden Silva and Beatriz Haddad Maia. Playing in just her second Grand Slam, the 19-year-old will be making her debut at the All England Club. The Californian teen won the USTA Girls 18s National Championships in 2018, earning a wild card into the 2019 US Open where she lost to eventual champion Bianca Andreescu.
On the UTR Pro Tennis Tour, Volynets (UTR 11.88) competed in the PTT Newport Beach Women’s $25K Hard 1, reaching the semifinals. Already in the main draw of Wimbledon is Patricia Maria Tig (UTR 12.12). The 26-year-old Romanian appeared in the semifinals of the PTT Romania Women’s $25K Clay 2 in April.
The junior Wimbledon draw begins in just over a week’s time and will feature Top 50 junior talent Reese Brantmeier (UTR 11.04). The 16-year-old from Wisconsin was a finalist at the PTT Naples Women’s $25K Clay 1 in January. Following her Naples run, she enjoyed a hot streak on the ITF Junior Tour, reaching the semifinals of a Grade 5 in Manchester, CT, winning a Grade 5 in Medford, N.J., and reaching the final of a Grade 1 in San Diego, Calif.
The junior Wimbledon boys field includes five players who have also picked up valuable match play on the UTR Pro Tennis Tour in 2021: Leo Borg (son of all-time great Bjorn Borg), Ethan Quinn, Aidan Mayo, Petr Nesterov, and Philip Sekulic.
