ITA Fall Circuit by Universal Tennis Reveals Schedule for College, Adult, and Junior Players

More tennis opportunities are coming to a college campus near you this fall. Universal Tennis and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) have announced the fall schedule for the 2021 season. The partnership was first launched in the summer of 2018 and six Circuits have been held so far.

“The ITA Summer Circuit by Universal Tennis provided great competition between former, aspiring, and current collegiate players to take their game to the next level,” said Chase Hodges, Georgia Gwinnett head men’s tennis coach. “Georgia Gwinnett is always excited to host this event as we have had phenomenal champions in the past. We look forward to welcoming the 2021 field of players.”

In the upcoming seventh Circuit, called the ITA Fall Circuit by Universal Tennis, college players will compete at a range of host sites across all divisions and genders. The events are “open,” meaning that anyone, including juniors and adults, can enter as long as they are current ITA player members (a $30 annual fee). Players will be selected by UTR Rating to ensure quality, high-level competition.

Last year was the first time Universal Tennis and the ITA ran summer, fall, and winter Circuits (over 160 events) in one season. Since 2018, more than 28,000 players have taken part in over 330 events held by the ITA and Universal Tennis. One of Universal Tennis’ primary goals is to support college programs and, through the ITA Circuits by Universal Tennis, over $1.2M in revenue has been generated for college programs.

“These level-based events and this circuit is a great opportunity for players of all ages and abilities to play regionally against players they may not normally bump up against,” said Colin Foster, head women's tennis coach at Wichita State.

The upcoming ITA Fall Circuit by Universal Tennis will include 27 events running from September 10-November 15.
