Avila Bay Classic - UTR Powered Event Spotlight

This weekend, while the world was watching the red clay at Roland Garros, all eyes were on a different tournament in Avila Beach, San Luis Obispo, CA: the 42nd Annual Avila Bay Classic. This year, Avila Bay Tournament Director Michael Marquez ran the tournament as a UTR Powered Event, setting the draws based off of player UTRs instead of age or gender. Players of all levels and ages met on the court: from an 81-year old who played a high school junior, to a top Arroyo Grande High School girl who competed against the top player from the Templeton High School boys tennis team.
"It was a great weekend that included four days of jam packed tennis over four different sites."
