Today, the Sloane Stephens Foundation and Universal Tennis announced a new long-term partnership to support the athletic development and personal growth of under-resourced youth through tennis participation.
Under the partnership, the Sloane Stephens Foundation will adopt the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) Powered by Oracle - the the world’s most accurate tennis rating system which measures all players regardless of age, gender and socioeconomic status, on the same scale - as its official player rating system. The Foundation will also leverage the innovative UTR Platform to organize fun and flexible tennis events for its youth participants, help players set goals and track progress, create engaging fundraising programming, and connect and engage with their local community.
Sloane Stephens, Founder of the Sloane Stephens Foundation, former World No. 3 and 2017 US Open Champion said, “Tennis has given me so many incredible opportunities and has had such a positive impact on my life. Our goal at the Foundation is to use tennis as the basis for lifelong learning, healthy lifestyle choices and a positive, constructive future. We are excited to implement Universal Tennis’ innovative platform and rating to help our program and our kids.”
Universal Tennis is providing all National Junior Tennis and Learning Network (NJTL) USTA partner organizations with free access to the UTR Platform to support their work to develop talent and character in youth through local tennis participation.

Today, there are more than 250 nonprofit youth development organizations within the National Junior Tennis and Learning Network (NJTL)across the United States that offer free or low-cost tennis and education programming to 160,000 under-resourced youth every year.
