What’s New in October? Updates That Make Life Easier for Club Providers and Players

October 2025: New Features Added

1. Award Draw Medals (Pickleball Only)

We’ve automated medal awarding so players are automatically awarded medals for their performance. Tournament providers will see a new toggle option in Step 2 of the “Create/Edit Event” flow to turn on “award medals for applicable draws in your event”. That’s it! No more manual work for providers.

Medal awarding is supported in these draw types: round-robin (with or without playoffs), automated group round robins, ad hoc draws, single elimination, and double elimination.

Players will see medals on public-facing event pages, providing hard-earned recognition.

2. USAP Player Standing Rule(Pickleball Only)

Play by the rules, every time. Providers looking to comply with official USAP rules for sanctioned events now have standings that accurately reflect the outcomes of matches by excluding results from players who did not complete the tournament.

Our updated pickleball user interface shows a clear reason for a player’s standing change such as “forfeited”, “retired”, or “withdrawn”. Providers will have the option to implement a new setting to “remove retired/forfeited/withdrawn players/teams from round-robin standings”.

3. Doubles Waitlist Update (Pickleball & Tennis)

Fair play starts as early as registration, and we’re now rewarding timely completion. The doubles waitlist logic has been updated to prioritize fully registered teams by introducing a "team registration date," which is the time both partners complete registration.

This update ensures a fair system that rewards timely registration, eliminates unwanted waitlist changes for providers, and improves the player experience by securing team positions based on full registration.

The registration date and time for the second partner is now visible on the doubles division player list. A new "Team Reg Date" column has been added to doubles player lists, which displays the time of the later of the two individual partner registration timestamps.

September 2025: New Features Added

1. New Verified Scoring Formats

By popular demand, we have added two new Verified Scoring formats to our tennis software:

• 8-game pro sets
• Single 6-game sets

These options are available in our Event Desk when creating Divisions and Draws, alongside other scoring formats and will count towards players' verified rating! Customize your events, save time, drive event registration and revenue.

2. Passwordless Magic Links

Tired of players struggling to log into their accounts? Forgotten password headaches are over. Logging in just got a lot easier with passwordless login using magic links. Players can enter their email, click the one-time link we send, and they’re in. Magic links end the frustration over forgotten passwords so players can get on court faster.

3. Score Corrections

We have also streamlined score corrections so users can request a fix for an incorrect or duplicate score simply by tapping a few buttons. How to submit a score correction:

• From your match scorecard, click the three-dot menu.
• You’ll see two options: Incorrect Score or Duplicate Score
• Follow the prompts and submit – it’s that simple!

A duplicate score will be automatically submitted to the database, while an incorrect score prompt will ask you to provide a URL with the correct score. You’ll get a confirmation right away and can expect a resolution within 48 hours.

July 2025: New Features Added

1. Schedule Publishing Draws

Manually publishing draws late a night before a tournament while hoping for a simpler solution? Those frustrating nights are now behind you with UTR Sports’ new Schedule Publishing Draws feature. You can schedule draws to automatically publish at your preferred time. No more late-night sessions or repetitive manual tasks. Simply choose the draws, pick your date and time, and let the platform handle the rest.

This feature doesn’t just automate—it enhances clarity. Draws are neatly organized by date, offering easy selection for either entire dates or specific draws. Need to make a quick change? Cancel scheduled publishes or publish immediately with just a click. The new feature is all about giving you greater control and flexibility.

You can schedule or instantly override at any moment, and it’s enabled for both tennis and pickleball events. You can clearly track what's scheduled versus what's published, so there’s never confusion about your event status.

Schedule Publishing Draws Key Functionality:

• Pre-Scheduling: Schedule draws to automatically publish at a specified future date and time.

• Enhanced UI: Draws clearly organized by date, with the ability to easily select all or specific draws within each date.

• Flexibility: Option to publish immediately or pre-schedule in 30-minute intervals.

• Cancellation & Immediate Publishing: Easy cancellation of scheduled publishes and the ability to override schedules to publish immediately.

2. Switch Player/Team Divisions

Managing player and team divisions used to mean tedious manual data entry every time there was a change. Now, providers can directly move players or teams to a different division, eliminating the need for withdrawing and re-registering them.

This seamless process significantly reduces potential errors and saves valuable administrative time, helping ensure your events run smoothly from start to finish. Your participants experience consistency, while your team enjoys streamlined event operations.

Switch Player/Team Divisions Key Functionality:

• Directly switch player/team divisions from division players lists on your event page.

• Switch just one player/team or multiple player/teams at the same time

• Seamlessly update without manual re-entry of data.

3. Set Unique Division Registration Dates

Every event is unique, and standard registration windows don't always match your specific needs. Recognizing this, UTR Sports has introduced the ability to Override Event Level Registration Dates, allowing you to set customized division registration open and close date periods that perfectly align with your event needs.

This flexibility means no more workaround solutions whether you need different registration open or close times for different participant groups or divisions, you now have the power to define exactly when each divisions’ registration opens and closes.

Setting custom division registration dates different from your default event dates empowers you with the flexibility needed to handle diverse event scenarios with ease.

• Unique division open and close registration dates will display your event page division cards tailored to your needs.
