UTR and USTA League Tennis

Exciting news: Universal Tennis is bringing in USTA League Results (Men's and Women's singles and doubles) for the Championship Year 2017 to provide league players with Universal Tennis Ratings (UTR). Creating UTRs for more and more groups of players will provide an additional tool for finding partners, opponents, and events that ensure more level-based play! Most of these USTA Adult League players are new to UTR. Nearly 90 percent have never competed with other tennis players in the UTR system, which, numerically, is dominated by competitive juniors and college players. This means it will take a bit of time for the UTRs of these league athletes to become as accurate as they are for other groups. In addition, the majority of USTA league results are from doubles matches. The UTR doubles rating is still in its “Beta” (testing) phase, and we will be monitoring it daily to refine the underlying algorithm as needed to make it as accurate as possible.
